What's on the Menu?
If you are like me, this is one of the harder questions each week. Planning food to feed 4 kids who I wouldn’t call picky, but definitely don’t appreciate everything I put on the table, is a mental workout. With our produce shares you will have access to the fruits of that workout. We grow food to feed other families, but our family eats that food as well. So while you are trying to figure out what to make with the produce you receive each week, please take comfort in knowing that I have already done just that. I will be sharing my weekly menus and recipes with you.
If you think you can’t cook, think again. I cook 98% of our meals at home, and they are rarely prepped before late in the afternoon. Any given evening, I am likely scrambling to remember what it was I was supposed to be cooking for dinner and trying to get it done before bedtime. Its not glamorous or graceful, but I get food on the table. My meals are easy to make (because I don’t have the time or patience to make anything complicated) and easy to alter. If you prefer different spices, different protein, or no protein, chances are, it can be switched up with little effort.
I am also including a list of the groups of fruits and veggies we will be delivering this year. There are multiple varieties in each category (think pink celery, purple carrots, purple bell peppers, rainbow radishes). Hopefully this will help you start dreaming of your own recipes, or compiling a list of items you want to request recipes from me for!

Hodge Podge Stir Fry
This is one of my favorite meals to make when I have a bunch of leftover produce and I need a quick, easy meal.
Ingredients:
Any produce you have: I typically do zucchini, yellow squash, onion, carrots, cabbage and tomatoes but the options are endless.
1 lb Ground beef (or turkey, venison, chicken, kielbasa, sausage, etc)
Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder (or any of your favorite seasonings)
Process:
Cook meat, remove from pan
While meat is cooking, chunk veggies into large bite size pieces
Cook veggies on medium heat in the pan you took the meat out of with a little butter or oil
Stirring occasionally so it doesn’t stick or burn
To cook a little faster, put a lid on top
Once veggies are cooked to your preferred texture, add meat back in.
Serve alone, on top of rice, or with eggs for a breakfast version
